On behalf of Prof. Dr. Christian Bogdan and Prof. Dr. Georg Schett, I would like to invite you to this year’s Joachim Kalden Lecture on Tuesday, 11 June at 17:15 pm in the seminar room (1st floor) of the Institute of Microbiology.

The Joachim Kalden Lecture series was introduced in 2009 and is named after the late Professor Joachim Kalden (1937-2021), who was chair of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology for almost 30 years and the founding father of clinical immunological research at the University of Erlangen. The lecturers of the past years were Harald zur Hausen (2009), Charles Dinarello (2010), Ralph Steinman (2011), Klaus Rajewsky (2012), Andreas Radbruch (2013), Dontscho Kerjaschki (2014), Alain Fischer (2015), Fiona Powrie (2016), Tak Wah Mak (2017), Bruce Walker (2018), Dolores Schendel (2019), Anne O’Garra (2022), and Hans-Georg Rammensee (2023).

The Joachim Kalden Lecture 2024 on “Cellular and molecular regulation of self-reactive B cells” will be given by Prof. Dr. Carola Vinuesa (The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK).
