{"id":7002,"date":"2023-05-08T14:10:08","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T12:10:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.izkf.med.fau.de\/?page_id=7002"},"modified":"2026-04-23T11:34:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T09:34:24","slug":"antragstellung","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.izkf.med.fau.de\/en\/elan\/anschubfinanzierung\/antragstellung\/","title":{"rendered":"Application"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Start-up Funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rrze-elements-collapsibles \"><div class=\"accordion\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-rrze-elements-collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-group \"><h2 class=\"accordion-heading\"><button class=\"accordion-toggle\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-name=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding\" data-href=\"#funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding\" type=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding-section\" id=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding\">Funding for start-up or pilot funding<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding-section\" class=\"accordion-body \" aria-labelledby=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding\" role=\"region\" name=\"funding-for-start-up-or-pilot-funding\"><div class=\"accordion-inner clearfix\">\n\n<p>You can submit your application anytime to the speaker of the ELAN programme committee, Prof. Dr. Christian Bogdan, via <a href=\"https:\/\/flexap-erlangenizkf.cloud.la2.io\/\">the application tool FlexAP<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, an applicant must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be an employee of Universit\u00e4tsklinikum Erlangen or Friedrich-Alexander-Universit\u00e4t Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg (FAU)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a doctoral degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding is primarily available to applicants who have not yet reached the age of 38 at the time of application. Maternity leave and parental leave extend that limit. This does not include newly appointed professors without a management function, who can apply regardless of age, usually within the first two years after they have started their position. Additional funds are also available for applicants outside the age limit. Follow-up projects of already funded projects cannot be funded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"de\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\"><span class=\"Q4iAWc\">Simultaneous funding by the Marohn-Stiftung or IZKF (except Synergy) is not possible. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cost for staff (1 position for a doctoral student or a technician) as well as consumables and costs for animal husbandry up to 15 T\u20ac can be applied for. Deviations must be specifically justified. The duration of the project is limited to one year. For further information please check the guidelines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><div class=\"alert clearfix clear alert-danger \" title=\"\">\n\n<p>temporarily<br>suspended<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>If an ELAN project submits an application for third-party funding (with a review process) during the project term, the project receives a bonus for staff and consumables of one third of the funding sum (max. 20 T\u20ac). These bonus funds must be spent within 6 months, otherwise they will be confiscated. The application for a bonus must be submitted to the IZKF office during the duration of the project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of an ELAN application, physicians working in clinical, can additionally apply for a laboratory rotation. Therefore, the regulations of the IZKF are valid and the funding decision is made independently of the project by the IZKF board.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rrze-elements-notice \"><div class=\"notice notice-hinweis\"><div class=\"icon-box\"><svg class=\"icon icon-symbols-notifications\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><use href=\"#symbols-notifications\"><\/use><\/svg><\/div><div>\n\n<p>Please have in mind that your application should be submitted at least <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">12 weeks<\/span><\/strong> before the next meeting of the ELAN committee. Additional preparation time might be required in case of external evaluations or general holiday time. Be prepared to answer any questions from the executive office or programme committee within a specified deadline after the committee meeting. Applications (as well as the cv and the list of publications) have to be submitted in English. The funding limit for staff and consumables is max. 50 T\u20ac (hiring of new staff, especially doctoral students, is not intended) with a duration of approx. 6 months. Applicants who have not yet reached the age of 38 at the time of application can also apply for 100% funding of their own position for a maximum of 6 months or 50% funding for a maximum of 12 months if, at the time of application, an external third-party funding proposal has already been submitted for the further funding of the position (as own position or ad personam postdoc position applied for). In the case of experienced scientists beyond the age limit, the aim is to maintain the continuity of the working group in an emergency situation (e.g. rejected external funding) and with good prospects of obtaining new external funding in the near future.
